Special Accessibility Advisory Committee

THAT the agenda for the Accessibility Advisory Committee special meeting of August 22, 2023 be confirmed.

THAT the presentation by Scott Wallace on the ‘Access the County’ grant program be received; THAT the ‘Access the County’ grant program to facilitate AODA compliance among Prince Edward County's small business community be endorsed by Council; and, THAT regardless of grant approval, the project phases (1-6) be actioned in collaboration with staff leads.

THAT the update by Caroline Reiss on the Business Liaison position be received. THAT the business liaison position be authorized in accordance with the role description. THAT the Committee directs Caroline Reiss to reach out to the Chamber of Commerce to determine the interest of leading the Business Working Group and report back to the Committee at the September meeting. THAT the Clerk's Office in collaboration with Caroline Reiss, the Chair and Vice Chair develop a Terms of Reference for the Business Working Group and report back to the Committee at the September meeting. THAT Caroline Reiss and Clerk's Office work with Visit the County to identify the goal and audience of the fall survey and develop questions for the fall survey pertaining to AODA compliance in County businesses.

THAT the business outreach information handout for the liaison be approved & referred to Council.
